Local Plan Preparation & Examinations
Roland was the main Author of the RTPI research “Local Plan Preparation: Barriers and Opportunities” which informed the RTPI’s response to earlier Government consultation on the local plan process.
Advice on Strategy, evidence base and process
“Critical Friend Review” review of Plan to highlight areas of potential risk and the requirement for new / revised evidence prior to each stage including examination.

Member & Officer Training
Our extensive experience provides a deep well of knowledge of the Planning system and we have prepared and run both Member and officer training programs on various aspects of both plan making and decision making.
We have a record of delivering seminars to professional bodies such as the RTPI as well as to wider professionals. This has proved particularly popular with regard to in depth seminars in our specialist areas.
Planning Applications & Development Management
We can provide councils with support when considering individual applications either by acting as the planning offers role or by providing expert advice in terms of specialisms such as five year land supply, older persons housing need or employment land need.
We will consider supporting councils at appeal by providing appeal statements and expert witness providing that in our judgement the scheme should be refused.
We also offer support for CPO and land tribunal cases.
Planning Research
Over the years we have developed a number of specialisms to support planning applications and local plan site promotion. These specialisms have been developed further so that they are also of assistance to Local Authorities in the production of their local plans.
